The story of Genie starts with family. Founder Cindy, with a background in urban planning and architecture design, has been seeking a retirement home for her dad for the past year. As a middle-class Chinese, her dad is looking to purchase a house in an urban environment with great proximity to where his daughter lives (Toronto). Frustrated by the time and energy involved to view properties in different locales as a foreigner, Cindy saw a chance to better connect millions of retirees like her dad with builders and realtors through virtual reality technology.

Genie was born with a mission to change the home-buying journey, making it more time and cost effective. Making VR tours available to retirees like her dad, he can view hundreds of properties without leaving his favourite recliner chair in China. Cindy can easily join the property viewing with her dad in Toronto with simply a VR headset at home. For real estate developers, this is also a great way to expedite property sales and construction financing by reaching out to a larger clientele in different locales.

Co-founder Ryan is a tech entrepreneur with over 20 years of industry experience with everything from hardware to application development with a special interest in VR/AR/MR and a background in strategic marketing. Both founders are united by their passion for entrepreneurship and recognized that their combined skills and experiences provided the foundation needed to open a 3D visualization & marketing company utilizing virtual reality technology for real estate clients.
